Fangio’s 1958 Mercedes 300 SL Roadster is for sale.

Juan Manuel Fangio is considered by many to be the greatest racing driver of all time and the cars he owned are worth millions of euros today.

In 2013 the Mercedes F1 that had belonged to him was sold for 22 million euros and two years later, in 2015, the Ferrari 290 MM that had been built for him in 1956 even reached 25.5 million euros.

Now there is another one up for auction: his 1958 Mercedes 300 SL Roadster. RM Sotheby’s will be beating it at auction with a reserved offer in March 2022.

Fangio’s Mercedes 300 SL Roadster is finished in metallic blue over a cream colour with a pattern similar to the Argentine national flag.

Fangio travelled more than 70,000 kilometres with this car, travelling both in Europe and South America.

“This car marked my childhood and awakened deep emotions in me as it accompanied my uncle for a long time after his retirement from racing,” says his nephew.

The price for this one-of-a-kind Roadster 300 SL will not be revealed to the public
